Technical Sales Engineer

£25-40k DOE + bens + development

My client is looking for a Technical Sales Engineer with an Electrical bias to join their busy team based in the Maidstone area. 

This role would suit either an Engineering graduate with an interest in working in a customer facing role, or an experienced Technical Sales Engineer who enjoys working with customers to fulfill a technical brief!

You will be: 

  • Liaising with a range of predominantly b2b customers, taking details of projects 
  • Supporting the client by understanding their bespoke requirement, related to power systems 
  • Acting as a key contact between the technical teams and the client, ensuring seamless communication at all times
  • Identifying areas to upsell
  • Working to targets 
  • Offering pre-sales support on the technical side 
  • Developing long-term relationships 
  • Creating and delivering technical presentations
  • Offering effective and accurate advice on which products / services / systems are best suited to the customer
  • Attending various sales and marketing events such as trade shows

The successful Technical Sales Engineer will have: 

  • A demonstrable interest in electronics, with electrical experience from a previous role
  • A good understanding of electrical principles both AC and DC
  • The willingness to learn new skills and develop personally and professionally
  • Ideally an Engineering or Electrical qualification
  • The ability to work 5 days on site in the Maidstone area with some travel potentially including internationally - must be a driver with own transport
  • A great working attitude, looking for long term development
  • An interest in the automotive sector 
  • The ability to read technical drawings
