Adecco are recruiting for an Electrical Instrumentation Maintenance Technician to join our client in South Ayrshire on a permanent basis.

Your role will be to apply electrical technical expertise to safely carry out planned, reactive and emergency work scopes as assigned from the maintenance plan within the maintenance system. The assigned work scopes will be carried out safely, accurately and on time to maximise plant and equipment up time and protect Company assets within their life cycle. This role will also monitor, maintain and troubleshoot issues relating to PLC's and SCADA and other associated equipment.

You will have many responsibilities, some include:

* Ensure a quick response time to reactive and emergency maintenance tasks to maintain a safe operation, maximise plant up time and protect Company assets.

* Ensure that assigned work scopes are carried out safely, to the highest quality and carried out on time to meet the requirements of the maintenance plan, maximising plant up time and protecting Company assets. Will carry out EX rated work scopes as per the regulations.

* Strictly follow documented Standard Operating Procedures and Risk Assessments for all tasks to ensure safe systems of work and to ensure work is completed to the highest standard.

* Assist where required with the documentation of SOP's and RA. Be involved in root cause analysis investigations for reactive and emergency maintenance to help prevent recurrence of the issue.

* Ensure stores procedures are strictly followed to allow the control of on-site inventory so that required spare parts/consumables are always available when needed.

* Work as part of a team with a strong team ethic, sharing knowledge and best practices openly. Feel ownership for the overall site performance.

* Identify training requirements in conjunction with Maintenance Team Leader and complete required training. Ensure that for all training you undertake, that there is a training record completed and filed. Complete PDP's in line with Company procedures.

* Ensure that opportunities for continual improvement for systems and processes identified are communicated to Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Team Leader and be actively involved in the implementation of continual improvement projects.

* Working towards a high performing team culture, attend and contribute appropriately to team/site meetings.

Key skills

* Strong team ethic Knowledge and experience of following SOP's and RA

* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

* Knowledge and experience of working with a CMMS system e.g. Agility, Maximo, SAP

* Some knowledge of the industry/sector or a comparable industry.

* Knowledge and experience of permit to work system Knowledge and experience of supervising third party contractors

* Must have previous experience in a similar role - Experience of working with similar plant/equipment/instrumentation * Experience within a similar industry working under the remit of COMPEX/ATEX regulations

* Experience of working with PLC's and SCADA systems and fault finding

* Experience maintaining, calibrating and commissioning process instrumentation (pressure, flow, temperature measurement etc)

Preferred but not essential

* Intricate knowledge of PLC's and SCADA systems including ability to make minor modifications to ladder logic and graphics would be advantageous

* Detailed knowledge of calibration and specification of Endress+Hauser process instrumentation

* Experience working alongside Process Control technicians to maintain process conditions and quality

* Experience working under a Quality Management System

* IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent would be advantageous

* Current Electrical COMPEX (EX01-EX04) certification
