Adeeco have an exciting opportunity for an Operation Manager from a Engineering and Manufacturing background to join out client in Ayrshire. Our client is a well-established provider of pipework and mechanical services, serving various sectors across the UK. They have ambitious plans for the next decade, making it an exciting time to be part of their journey.

  • Be part of a long-standing engineering firm that is expanding rapidly and has clear growth objectives for the future.
  • Take on a leadership role where you will work closely with the Production Manager to optimise operations and drive continuous improvement.
  • Play a key role in developing teams, implementing lean processes, and ensuring the right resources and infrastructure are in place
  • Contribute significantly to shaping the company's strategy, influencing investment decisions, and driving future success.

You will have many responsibilities, some will include:

  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop site and workshop teams, focusing on skills development and succession planning to ensure a strong and capable workforce.
  • Infrastructure Management: Oversee improvements to equipment and facilities, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of the business.
  • Process Optimisation: Implement lean and efficient processes, identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Performance Tracking: Develop and monitor key performance metrics to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with senior management to influence investment decisions and contribute to long-term strategic planning.

Our client is looking for you to have the following:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a management role within engineering or manufacturing.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, with experience in HR, recruitment, training, and team development.
  • Strong understanding of lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations and standards (LOLER, PUWER, ISO standards, etc.).
  • HNC (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Excellent communication, commercial awareness, and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience with ERP system implementation is highly desirable.
