Search is delighted to be working with our client based in Edinburgh to recruit an Audit Analyst to join their team on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities:

As an Audit Analyst, the successful candidate will join a team of experienced auditors, contributing to the delivery of the overall strategy and providing proactive support. This role offers the chance to work within a leading audit function, gaining exposure to a wide range of risk modelling, capital assessment, and other analytical techniques across banking and insurance businesses. A growth mindset will be key in positively impacting the effectiveness and efficiency of the audit function.

The Audit Analyst will assist the Engagement Lead in delivering audits, leading the evaluation of controls, and completing testing, using expert knowledge of audit methodology and the assigned business/risk area. Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering specified outcomes and/or providing support services within a designated area of audit control, working within established systems.
  • Supporting internal customers to ensure their needs are met and helping senior colleagues manage client relationships.
  • Identifying shortcomings and recommending improvements in compliance processes, systems, and procedures within the assigned unit and/or discipline.
  • Conducting research using primary data sources to enable analysis of key themes and trends.
  • Developing personal capabilities through formal and informal training opportunities, while also coaching others as required.

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Knowledge of the generic elements of a model life cycle and associated risks, as well as an understanding of effective model risk management and governance.
  • Knowledge of regulatory capital requirements in Insurance or Banking.
  • Practical experience in developing, using, or monitoring models measuring Credit, Market, or Actuarial Risks.
  • The ability to deliver risk and control assurance activities that are timely, insightful, and valued by stakeholders.
  • Experience using statistical analysis and qualitative techniques to validate models.
  • The ability to analyse and communicate data effectively, using it to drive meaningful audit outcomes.
