Shift Supervisor

Toro Recruitment has partnered with an innovative waste-to-energy company in East Anglia. They are currently seeking a Shift Supervisor to join their groundbreaking project that could revolutionise the energy industry.

As a Shift Supervisor, you will oversee the safe and compliant operations of the plant through its installation and commissioning phases. Your primary responsibilities will be to ensure the successful calibration, cold commissioning, hot commissioning (with and without feed), and overseeing the plant’s continuous 24/7 operation over a 30-day period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage, implement, and ensure adherence to all site and company safety protocols and procedures.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations and monitor plant performance.
  • Manage plant isolation procedures and ensure operational maintenance and upkeep.
  • Supervise and manage shift personnel to maintain efficient and safe operations.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Engineering qualification (National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 3 in Electrical discipline) or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical or electrical systems, with the ability to read system schematics.
  • Experience with risk assessments and safe systems of work. 
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • IOSH Managing Safely certification.
  • Knowledge of Safe Isolation and Electrical Safety protocols.
  • Experience with Working at Height (WAH) or Confined Space Management.
  • First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid certification.
  • Certification to operate plant machinery, including IPAF or MEWP.
