Chief Inspector

Bristol

The client has an exciting opportunity for a Chief Inspector to join their team. This position is well-suited to a person who is ideally having Chief Inspector

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure Company quality systems are adhered to always.
  • Assist the Quality Manager in maintaining the Quality Systems of the Company e.g. by identifying trends in non-conformances, performing audits and supplier assessments.
  • Assist the Quality Manager in the promotion of awareness of customer requirements and continuous improvement
  • Assist the Quality Manager in ensuring all company employees are aware of their quality responsibilities using whatever means appropriate
  • Assist the Quality Manager in resolving matters pertaining to quality including customer and supplier liaison
  • Preparation and review of Non-conformance Reports, FAIRS, DARs, Concessions, Waivers and Final Inspection Reports.
  • Create and maintain calibration records within the IFS ERP System
  • Collate certificates and reports for documentation packages.
  • Liaise with outside inspectors and auditors
  • Create product passports
  • Create quality instructions


Requirements:

  • Oversee the inspection staff to ensure compliance e.g. drawings, specifications, codes, standards and regulations
  • To verify traceability of components is maintained throughout all manufacturing and inspection operations.
  • Monitor route records to verify operations are completed sequentially and signed appropriately.
  • Monitor quality related shop floor activities.
  • Record returned and reworked items on non-conformances.
  • Visually inspect components predominantly on site but possibly throughout the UK in response to customer maintenance programmes.
  • Aberlink & Tutor experience an advantage
  • Perform final inspection on items leaving the factory, including completion and verification of route record operations.

Hours Monday to Thursday 7.30 to 4pm, Friday 7.30 to 1pm 37.5-hour week (the working pattern is changing to Monday to Wednesday 6.30 to 4.30, Thursday 6.30 to 4pm with effect from 2nd January 2025. We will be closed on a Friday)

25 days holiday + Bank Hols (3 days saved for Christmas Shutdown). This will change to 187.5 hours plus bank holidays from January 2025.
