We are recruiting on behalf of a top employer for a highly skilled and customer-facing NPD Senior Technologist to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial for ensuring that customer critical paths for project briefs are adhered to, launching products on time, and supporting briefs with innovative ideas and trends through market data and research.



Day-to-day of the role:

  • Manage customer accounts with NPD and EPD projects from concept to launch.
  • Direct contact with key retailers, maintaining face-to-face and written communication.
  • Create and develop innovative designs, capturing new key trends for both NPD and EPD projects.
  • Work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment ensuring that all key milestones are met.
  • Champion recipe creation and manage all documentation throughout the concept to launch process.
  • Undertake tasks associated with product launch including organoleptic testing and micro review.
  • Source new ingredients, ensuring they meet design, customer, site requirements, and cost considerations.
  • Organise and oversee pre-production launch meetings and first product launches.
  • Support production and process technologists throughout the trial stage.
  • Work closely with relevant specification writers to ensure alignment with project updates.
  • Attend customer submission meetings, quality panels, and innovation days as required.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree level education preferred.
  • Extensive experience within an NPD technologist role in the food industry
  • Knowledge of ingredient functionality and a good understanding of HACCP Principles (Level 3 minimum).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Food Hygiene Qualified.
  • Familiarity with retailer Codes of Practice and Policies (e.g., Tesco, Sainsbury's, CO-OP) is desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
