Specification Technologist Food Manufacturing

Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Specification Technologist to join a leading food manufacturing company in Bala. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in ensuring that all product specifications meet legal, customer, and internal quality requirements.

Overview:
As a Specification Technologist, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and ensuring the accuracy of product specifications across a wide range of food products. You will work closely with product development, quality assurance, and production teams to ensure that product specifications are in line with customer expectations, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in food product specifications and a passion for maintaining high standards of product quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain accurate product specifications for new and existing products, ensuring they meet customer requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Work closely with the R&D and production teams to ensure specifications are aligned with product development and manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards, labelling regulations, and nutritional guidelines.
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers to gather and confirm product information, ensuring the accuracy of specifications and documentation.
  • Conduct regular reviews and updates of product specifications, including packaging, ingredients, and nutritional content.
  • Assist with the preparation for audits and ensure specifications are compliant with relevant quality and safety certifications (e.g., BRC, ISO).
  • Provide technical support for customer queries related to product specifications, ingredients, allergens, and labeling.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve any specification-related issues and implement corrective actions when necessary.

Candidate:
The successful candidate will possess:

  • Proven experience in a specification technologist role within the food manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of food regulations, labeling, allergens, and nutritional standards.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining product specifications and documentation.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
  • A degree or relevant qualification in food science, food technology, or a related field is preferred.
