QA Manager

We are seeking a QA Manager to oversee our Quality and Compliance. This role is crucial as the gatekeeper of product quality and champion of factory visit-ready status. You will lead the Quality Assurance team and ensure the delivery of QA outputs and activities, including complaint investigations and taste panel regimes.



Day-to-day of the role:

  • Lead the Quality Assurance team, fostering team development and succession planning.
  • Coordinate and deliver technical training, including metal detector, allergen, and labelling training.
  • Support the achievement and maintenance of A grade BRCGS, assisting with preparation and coordination.
  • Drive factory visit-ready status and coordinate corrective action reports from external audits.
  • Manage the internal audit schedule, ensuring completion and effective closure of non-conformances.
  • Serve as a HACCP Team Member/Deputy Lead and participate in TACCP/VACCP teams.
  • Coordinate mock recalls and complaint investigations, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Drive product quality and food safety through GMP auditing and trend reduction.
  • Liaise with NPD and attend meetings to represent the QA function.
  • Implement procedural documentation and conduct factory training as needed.
  • Attend customer quality panels and technical handovers.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar technical role within the food industry.
  • High level of accuracy and excellent administrative skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with food hygiene and HACCP qualifications.
  • Knowledge of retailer Codes of Practice (e.g., Tesco, Sainsbury's, CO-OP) is desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to motivate a team.
  • Strong time management skills and the initiative to complete tasks effectively.
