Do you have experience working as a Process Technologist in the food industry?

A leading UK food manufacturer is looking for a Process Technologist to join their NPD team. This role is perfect for someone who loves working with bakery products and enjoys seeing ideas move from the kitchen to full-scale production.

Responsibilities:

  • Run trials in the factory (e.g., testing how products are made, packaged, and baked).
  • Plan and organise trials, including ordering ingredients and coordinating with other teams like Production and Engineering.
  • Record and review trial results (e.g., machine settings, baking times, weights, and decoration details).
  • Collect samples for testing things like shelf life, nutrition and customer approvals.
  • Manage testing for food safety and nutrition results, keeping records up to date.
  • Write reports based on trial results and share them with the team.
  • Work closely with different departments to ensure smooth product launches.
  • Help with admin tasks, ad-hoc projects and responding to customer sample requests.

Requirements:

  • Experience as a Process Technologist in the food industry (bonus if it’s bakery-related).
  • A good understanding of how bakery ingredients work.
  • Basic food safety and hygiene qualifications (HACCP Level 3 preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail, communication, and organisation skills.
  • Good IT skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • A flexible, hands-on attitude and the ability to work with different teams to meet deadlines.
  • A degree in a relevant science subject is desirable but not essential.
