Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental Officer

We are seeking a dedicated Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental (QHSE) Officer to join our team. This role involves assisting in the delivery of QHSE protocols across various locations in NI, GB, and ROI. The ideal candidate will be qualified, self-motivated, and bring a positive approach to all aspects of their work.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Conduct QHSE internal audits and site inspections across the Group’s locations.
  • Regularly carry out checks and update records to monitor compliance.
  • Manage documentation related to sub-contractors and contractors, including organising and delivering inductions.
  • Assist with the provision of QHSE and Product Safety awareness programs through various campaigns.
  • Respond to employee queries concerning safety, environmental, and health issues, and discuss improvement suggestions.
  • Participate in the investigation and reporting of accidents, near misses, and dangerous occurrences, ensuring corrective actions are taken.
  • Maintain QHSE administration tasks, ensuring records are updated and communication materials like signage and posters are current.
  • Review current QHSE policies, procedures, regulations, and legislation.
  • Travel to Group’s locations and customer sites in GB & Ireland as required.
  • Work with line managers to enhance their safety responsibilities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar QHSE role.
  • Experience working to ISO standards and internal auditing.
  • NEBOSH Certificate.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritise workload.
  • Proficient in QHSE management systems and procedures.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of BRC Global Standards and current QHSE legislation.
