Role Overview:
Brook Street UK are delighted to be working with a client based in Ballyclare who urgently need an Accounts Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis. This role offers an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the financial management of a leading company in Northern Ireland.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Accounts Payable Process: Process supplier invoices, compile monthly supplier payment runs, and reconcile supplier statements.
  • Interdepartmental Invoicing.
  • Employee Expenses - Analyse and prepare.
  • Monthly KPIs: Compile monthly Key Performance Indicators to support decision-making..
  • Fixed Asset Management: Maintain the Fixed Asset Register.
  • VAT Returns.
  • Month-End Deadlines
  • Financial reports.
  • Management of Accounts
  • Stock Control.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.

Expectations:

  • Execute tasks competently and professionally.
  • Proficient in Accounts Payable
  • Use working time efficiently and effectively.
  • Be proactive in identifying areas for process improvement.
  • Provide timely information to support profitability and cash flow analysis.
  • Identify potential problems and advise on them promptly.

Key Skills we are seeking in a Candidate

  • Professional Qualifications: Be part-qualified or fully qualified in a recolonised accounting body such as IATI, CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent.
  • Relevant Experience: Have previous experience in key duties such as preparing management accounts, stock reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations. While not essential, this experience is highly desirable.
  • IT Skills: Possess excellent general IT skills, including advanced experience with Microsoft Excel, such as regular use of pivot tables, V look-ups, and advanced formulae.
  • Accounting Software Experience: Have previous experience using accounts packages.
