Location: Banbury, Oxfordshire
Position: Sous Chef
Hours: Monday to Friday, Term Time Only
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Holidays: Up to 8 weeks per annum

About Us:We are a Secondary School in Banbury, Oxfordshire, is committed to providing our students with nutritious and delicious meals that support their learning and well-being. We pride ourselves on using fresh, wholesome ingredients to create meals that our students love. We are looking for a talented Sous Chef to join our kitchen team and assist our Chef Manager in delivering high-quality meals.

Role Overview: As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in our kitchen operations, working closely with the Chef Manager to prepare and cook fresh, wholesome meals for our students. You will help maintain the high standards of our kitchen, ensuring all meals are prepared to the highest quality and dietary standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Chef Manager in preparing and cooking nutritious, wholesome meals from scratch.
  • Ensure all food is prepared and presented to high standards.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
  • Contribute to menu planning and development.
  • Manage stock levels and assist with ordering supplies.
  • Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Support the Chef Manager in training and supervising kitchen staff.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef, preferably in a school or similar environment.
  • Passion for cooking with fresh, wholesome ingredients.
  • Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work Monday to Friday during term time.
  • Positive attitude and a commitment to providing high-quality meals for students.
