  • Our client, an international supplier of capital equipment, is seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee a team delivering large-scale projects across the UK and Europe.
  • This role involves managing all aspects of project delivery, including design, procurement, manufacture, installation, commissioning, and handover.
  • Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of project management experience, along with a relevant HNC/HND or degree in engineering.
  • The position offers a competitive salary of £60,000 to £70,000, depending on experience, along with responsibilities for team management and project oversight.
  • The ideal candidate will also possess knowledge of health & safety legislation and be willing to travel extensively for project installations.
Our client is a highly successful, international supplier of capital equipment and due to growth, they are looking to recruit a capable Senior Project Manager into a management position within the business. You will be directly responsible for overseeing a small team of Project Managers, who in turn will be responsible for delivering large-scale capital engineering projects for the company's clients across the UK and (sometimes) Europe. This role covers all aspects of project delivery, from initial point of order through to design, procurement, manufacture and installation, then commissioning and handover. Key duties and responsibilities:
  • Manage all tasks with the Projects Team, ensuring the smooth delivery of customer projects.
  • Full management responsibility of all reports, including regular meetings, mentoring, guidance and appraisals/HR responsibilities. 
  • Ensure all planned project deadlines are achieved. 
  • Assume overall management of projects, leading and supervising project teams and cross-departmental functions.
  • Initiate and manage all project documentation including commissioning and training.
  • Chair project meetings, agreeing and issuing action plans.
  • Oversee the design process, health & safety and risk assessments.
  • Support the installations teams during the site installation process.
  • Manage the commercial aspects of the project, maintaining costs to budgets. 
  • Collaborating closely with all other internal departments as required to ensure that projects are successfully delivered. 
Skills & Experience Required:
  • HNC/HND in general, design or mechanical engineering, or similar qualifications. A relevant degree would be desirable but not essential.
  • Staff/Team Management expertise, able to manage and communicate with team members internally and remotely.
  • Knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation - NEBOSH qualification is desirable.
  • Project Management experience - a formal qualification such as PRINCE2 or APM-PMP is desirable.
  • Commercial management experience in areas such as UK contract law, general negotiation skills, staff management expertise etc.
  • Happy to travel extensively around the UK and occasionally overseas to oversee project installations. Current passport and UK transport required.
