Job Title: Senior Town Planner
Location: Banbury, Oxfordshire

We are excited to partner with a highly reputable and well-established town planning consultancy based in Banbury, who are looking to expand their team with a talented Senior Town Planner. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic, client-focused practice where you'll be involved in a variety of exciting and challenging projects across residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage planning applications for a diverse range of projects, ensuring compliance with relevant planning policies, regulations, and best practices.
  • Provide expert advice to clients, guiding them through the planning process and helping them navigate complex planning matters.
  • Prepare and submit planning applications, appeals, and other necessary documentation.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including local authorities, developers, and consultants.
  • Oversee junior team members, providing mentorship and guidance, and contributing to their professional development.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in planning legislation, policy, and local planning trends.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.


Requirements:

  • A relevant planning qualification (RTPI accredited degree or equivalent).
  • MRTPI status or working towards it (preferable).
  • At least 5 years of experience in town planning, with a strong understanding of both development management and policy planning.
  • Proven experience managing planning applications and successfully navigating the planning system.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with clients and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a practical approach to town planning issues.
  • Ability to manage a varied workload, working to tight deadlines and prioritising effectively.
  • A collaborative and proactive approach to working within a team.
