We are working with a dynamic Landscape Architecture practice specialising in landscape planning and visual impact assessments for a range of developments in both the public and private sectors, based in Banbury, Oxfordshire. Our client is looking to recruit a Principal Landscape Architect to lead and manage complex projects while driving the continued growth of the team.

As a Principal Landscape Architect, you will take a leadership role in delivering high-quality landscape architecture projects, ensuring technical excellence, and managing client relationships. You will oversee a range of projects, from concept through to delivery, and will be responsible for mentoring junior team members, reviewing technical reports, and seeking new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will have extensive project management experience, and a proven ability to lead teams successfully.



Principal Landscape Architect Job Overview

  • Lead and manage complex landscape architecture projects from inception to completion.
  • Provide technical oversight and prepare/review detailed landscape reports, including Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments (LVIA).
  • Oversee project delivery, ensuring quality, efficiency, and adherence to deadlines.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a key point of contact.
  • Manage and mentor a team of landscape architects, providing guidance and technical support.
  • Proactively seek new revenue opportunities and contribute to business development strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver innovative and sustainable landscape solutions.


Principal Landscape Architect Job Requirements

  • A Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI) or equivalent experience.
  • Significant experience in landscape architecture, including leading teams and managing projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge, including experience with LVIA, planning applications, and environmental assessments.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software, including AutoCAD, GIS and LVIA tools.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and client management skills.
  • A proactive and commercially aware mindset, with the ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • A full, clean UK driving licence.
