The Role

As a Maintenance Technician, your primary responsibility will be ensuring the efficiency and reliability of production machinery. You'll play a key role in maintaining smooth operations through both preventative and reactive maintenance. Your tasks will include:

  • Carrying out both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and resolving technical faults to minimise downtime.
  • Responding swiftly to machinery breakdowns to ensure minimal disruption to production.
  • Supporting the production team with technical issues and troubleshooting as required.
  • Implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance machine performance and operational efficiency.
  • Ensuring the work environment remains safe, clean, and compliant with health and safety standards.

What You'll Need

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A solid background in a food, FMCG, packaging, or manufacturing environment (other industries will also be considered).
  • Relevant qualifications such as NVQ, HNC, HND, BTEC, or City & Guilds in a related engineering field.
  • Strong experience in electrical or mechanical maintenance, with a multi-skilled approach being highly advantageous.
  • A proactive and hands-on attitude with excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • A flexible approach to working, thriving both independently and as part of a team.
