Our client is a global manufacturing business, with a large production facility based in Banbury. They are now looking to employ an experienced, multi-skilled maintenance engineer, to work onsite, as part of the engineering team. You will be employed on a shift basis (continental shift pattern), overseeing both preventative maintenance, continual improvement and reactive maintenance projects. Key Responsibilities for this role:
  • React to breakdowns and quality issues, using diagnostic skills to identify and rectify problems quickly and effectively.
  • Programme and monitor the running of plant equipment to maximise through-put in line with agreed quality standards.
  • Undertake planned maintenance
  • Work as a member of the shift team, maximising efforts to meet priorities and having a longer-term view to continuous improvement
  • Input into manufacturing facilities (layouts, services etc.)
  • Take appropriate escalation actions
  • Provide engineering and technical services to improve the performance of the plant.
  • To use the escalation procedure for any issues/concerns eg. Quality/downtime
Skills & Experience Required:
  • Relevant experience in a multi-skilled, onsite maintenance engineering position, ideally within a manufacturing environment or similar.
  • Relevant engineering qualification, ideally in electrical engineering.
  • Strong diagnostic skills, good numeracy and communication (both oral and written) skills
  • Reactive to changing requirements
  • Ability to write technical reports
  • Must have a strong attention span with a good eye for detail.
  • Robotic experience (desirable).
  • Experience of hydraulics and PLC work.
  • Computer literate
