Are you a talented Mechanical Design Engineer with a passion for innovative design and engineering excellence? Our company, a premier OEM specializing in special purpose machinery for the food and packaging industry, is looking for a dynamic individual to join our engineering team.
Role Overview:
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing mechanical production machinery valued at an average of £50,000 per project. These projects typically span 2 to 8 weeks, offering a variety of challenges and the chance to work on bespoke machinery solutions that are critical to our clients' operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design of special purpose machinery for food & packaging industries using SolidWorks
- Create detailed 3D models, drawings, and technical specifications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers and project managers
- Ensure designs meet client specifications, industry standards, and are cost-effective
- Oversee the development process from concept to completion
- Support manufacturing teams with design-related queries
What We’re Looking For:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 2-3 years of design experience in a relevant industry
- Proficient in SolidWorks for mechanical design and modeling
- Experience working on capital equipment projects is highly desirable
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on innovation and efficiency
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
