Role: Head of IT (Educational sector)

Location: Banbury, Oxfordshire

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000

Hours 37.5 per week between Monday-Friday 8am to 6pm

?Profile

We are working exclusively with a very well-respected school in Oxfordshire, which really is an amazing place to work. Managing a team of 3 you will be responsible for the ongoing development of IT systems and services across the school. This is still a hands-on position, so whilst you will play a vital part in delivery of the IT strategy, you will still be an escalation point to the team and be looking after the school's infrastructure and leading project work.

To be considered for this position you will need to have proven experience of leading/managing a team and be a strong and confident communicator.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and management of the IT department.
  • Identify where IT solutions can streamline or improve processes across the school, including the use of AI.
  • Accountable for all aspects of IT service management, including time to ticket resolution and uptime of services.
  • To include day-to-day task prioritisation for all members of the IT team.
  • Implementation and ongoing refinement of ITIL based incident, change and risk management.
  • Apply PRINCE2 project management methodology for new system, or significant system change implementations

Essential Skills

  • Formal IT qualification to degree level or significant relevant
  • experience
  • Understanding of industry best practice for service management, project management and cybersecurity
  • Experienced in training and supporting staff
  • Experienced in leading an IT support team
  • Experience with Microsoft licence management
  • Experience with the use, management and support of Microsoft 365 platforms
