As the Workshop Controller, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the workshop operates efficiently and effectively.

Are you the right person for the job?

  • Previous experience in a similar Workshop Controller role
  • A deep understanding of vehicle servicing and repair processes
  • Strong background in people management within an automotive workshop
  • Fluent in English with excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel; familiarity with Pinewood or 1Link is a plus
  • GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • Ability to plan, prioritise, and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ensuring high standards of workmanship and accuracy in reporting
  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal teams and customers

What will your role look like?

  • Overseeing and allocating work to Service Technicians, ensuring adherence to manufacturer guidelines and quality standards
  • Proactively planning workshop capacity to maximize productivity and reduce downtime
  • Providing technical support and guidance to staff and customers, maintaining a high standard of technical expertise
  • Ensuring all repairs and services meet customer expectations and comply with safety and quality standards
  • Monitoring training needs, conducting quality checks, and driving continuous improvement within the team
  • Supporting the service administration team to deliver exceptional customer experiences
  • Accurately interpret job cards/repair orders and ensure compliance with quality procedures
  • Manage workshop tools and equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and calibration
  • Communicate effectively with the Parts Department, customers, and Technical Service Advisors to resolve delays or additional requirements
  • Keep the workshop clean, safe, and organised while maintaining company property
  • Achieve company and personal targets while adhering to health and safety regulations
