Vehicle Technician/MOT Tester Wanted.

Due to expansion, Apollo Servicing & Repairs based in Wroxton, Banbury, is looking to recruit a new Vehicle Technician. It would be a bonus if you are also an MOT tester but this is not essential.

This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to join an established business that is thriving in the local area. Our workshop is not your usual run down garage. We have brand new premises, heated and cooled with air-conditioning, all fitted with brand new Ramps, MOT & a Tracking Bay with the very latest tools and diagnostic equipment provided.

We have a fantastic team full of friendly individuals that awaits you who have joined us from both independent garages as well as main dealers.

We are growing everyday and bringing a modern twist to vehicle repairs with fantastic facilities for both the Technician and Customers visiting. We are also opening our second branch in the coming weeks so there is scope for further opportunities within the business with us looking for a long term candidate to grow with the company.

We currently have 4 full time Mechanics, Receptionist and multiple drivers as we provide a free Collection and Delivery service for Customer vehicles.

You must hold the NVQ Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance & Repair Qualification or be an experienced mechanic that can show at least 3-5 years of proven track record, hardworking, able to work on your own initiative with minimal supervision and have the ability to fit into a small professional team.

You must have experience of using diagnostic equipment. A full UK driving license is required.

This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday 8.30 5.30pm although flexibility is required and overtime is often available should you want to further your earnings.

Job Description:

  • Our Technicians are responsible for the servicing, repair and diagnostics of all vehicles in the workshop, ensuring that all work is carried out to the highest standard first time.
  • The main responsibilities would include electrical and mechanical repairs, including suspension, steering, brakes, wheel bearings, driveshafts, exhausts and air conditioning servicing, electrical work as well as timing belts, clutches and all aspects of modern day vehicle requirements.
  • Carrying out vehicle maintenance and repairs on the full range of models.
  • Fault diagnosis together with recommendations for repair.
  • Maintaining a high level of vehicle knowledge.
  • To perform all work assigned in a timely manner, economically and to Company and Manufacturers standards.
  • To advise the workshop controller if additional work is required on a vehicle and seek their assistance and authority in the rectification of faults.
  • To maintain a high level of competence for the work to be undertaken by undergoing on-site training, attending courses at suppliers and manufacturers and reading technical bulletins as required.
  • Discuss with customers, problems with the vehicle as requested.
  • Ensure the Company image of professionalism and quality of service is maintained when dealing with customers.
  • Operate equipment and carry out all duties in a safe manner.
  • Maintain equipment, protective clothing and work areas in a clean, tidy and safe condition.
  • Assist Management with the introduction of new methods of work designed to improve efficiency.
  • To carry out any other duties as required

Relevant Experience & Qualifications:

  • Vehicle Technician: 5 years (Preferred again not essential)
  • NVQ Level 3 qualified or equivalent.
  • Previous experience within a main dealer is desirable although not essential.
  • Be able to comply with all company and manufacturers disciplines and procedures License or certification.
  • Full Driving License (Required).

Pay:

  • From £30,000 to £42,500 per year subject to experience.
