We're looking for a Warehouse Operative to join our team providing additional support. If you're someone who enjoys a hands-on role, takes pride in keeping things organised. This role is offered on an initial 6 month, working Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5 PM.
What you will be doing as the Warehouse Operative
- Loading and unloading delivery vehicles, either manually or using a forklift
- Checking for damaged or missing items and sorting stock for storage or distribution
- Accurately putting goods away into the appropriate storage spaces
- Picking and packing customer orders efficiently and within set targets
- Maintaining accurate stock records using warehouse management systems
- Assisting with inventory checks and reporting as needed
- Supporting operational efficiency by following procedures and schedules
- Ensuring a clean, safe, and organised warehouse and yard area
- Completing daily equipment checks and promptly reporting any issues
- Liaising with suppliers to manage stock of consumables and packaging materials
Experience, skills and attributes required
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently or as part of a team
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable using stock control systems and IT-based records
- Forklift experience preferred (licence not essential but an advantage)
