Are you a results-driven purchasing professional with a passion for strategic sourcing, supplier negotiation, and continuous improvement? Our client is looking for a proactive Commodity Buyer to join their team in Banbury.

About the Role:
As a Commodity Buyer, you'll play a key role in supporting the division’s purchasing activities, focusing on indirect and capital procurement. You’ll work to secure the best possible conditions for the company across cost, quality, innovation, and delivery, all while ensuring compliance with our operational standards and policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and process purchase requisitions, ensuring alignment with company procedures and cost goals.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to meet urgent or specialist procurement needs.
  • Drive supplier engagement and benchmarking for capital investments.
  • Produce regular procurement reports and support KPI tracking.
  • Oversee service contracts, lease agreements, and key supplier relationships.
  • Identify and execute cost reduction initiatives based on spend analysis.
  • Support departmental continuous improvement and cost-saving projects.
  • Adhere to 5S processes and procedures.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A motivated self-starter with a strong commercial awareness.
  • Previous experience in a busy manufacturing purchasing environment.
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • SAP experience and CIPS qualification (or equivalent) are preferred.
