About the Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Oncology Pharmacist to join a well-established NHS Hospital in North Wales. The role offers a competitive pay rate of £27 - £37 per hour (Band 7/8a) and provides an opportunity to work within a supportive and dynamic multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing high-quality patient care in oncology.

As an Oncology Pharmacist, you will be responsible for providing specialist pharmaceutical services to cancer patients, ensuring safe and effective use of chemotherapy and other oncology medications. You will work closely with oncology consultants, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimise patient treatment plans and contribute to improving outcomes for those affected by cancer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice and support on the safe use of oncology medications, including chemotherapy and immunotherapy agents.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care in oncology settings.
  • Undertake clinical ward rounds to assess medication needs, review prescriptions, and provide counselling to patients.
  • Support the development and delivery of clinical services within the oncology department.
  • Contribute to clinical audits and quality improvement projects related to oncology pharmacy services.
  • Stay up to date with the latest developments in oncology pharmacotherapy and contribute to continuous professional development.

Requirements:

  • Essential: Experience working as a pharmacist in oncology, with a sound understanding of chemotherapy and other cancer treatments.
  • Qualifications: Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Desirable: Experience working within an NHS hospital setting and completing clinical audits.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and patient-facing skills.

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (30-minute break).
  • Full-time, 5 days a week.
