1st Line IT Field Engineer - Managed Service ProviderLocation: North WalesSalary: £25k-£30k

I’m working with a dynamic Managed Service Provider based in North Wales who are looking to expand their team with a skilled and customer-focused 1st Line IT Field Engineer.

About the Role:As a 1st Line IT Field Engineer, you’ll be providing a mix of remote and on-site support to an exciting portfolio of clients within the education sector. This is a great role for someone with experience in technical support, particularly within a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment, who enjoys working in a fast-paced and collaborative setting. You’ll be the first point of contact for customers, troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues, and ensuring that service levels are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and resolve software and hardware issues for clients

  • Log, update, and track tickets using the company’s helpdesk system

  • Perform software installations and deployments

  • Assist with network and infrastructure tasks alongside the infrastructure team

  • Contribute to the development and update of technical documentation

  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to clients

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in an MSP environment is essential

  • Strong technical knowledge of Windows (W10/11) and OSX/iOS support

  • Understanding of networks, including TCP/IP, switches, routers, and VLANs

  • Proven ability to build strong client relationships

  • Excellent verbal communication skills, able to engage with both technical and non-technical customers

  • Driving Licence required

Desirable:

  • Experience in educational IT support

  • Familiarity with Windows Servers 2022, Office 365, Azure, and Google Workspace admin
