  • Support and Guidance: Offer emotional support and practical guidance to individuals who may experience distress or difficulties.

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team including social workers, healthcare professionals, therapists, and educators.
  • Training Participation: Engage in regular training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in caring for a variety of complex needs.

Requirements

  • Experience: Previous experience supporting individuals with one or more of the following: mental health challenges, dementia/elderly care, learning difficulties, complex care needs, or children's residential care.
  • Driver's License: A valid driver's license and access to your own vehicle is required.
  • Registration: Must be registered or willing to register with Social Care Wales.
  • DBS Check: Must have or be willing to obtain an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

Skills and Attributes

  • Empathy and Understanding: A deep understanding of the complex needs of individuals, whether they are facing mental health challenges, cognitive impairments, or require complex care.
  • Industry Knowledge: Well-versed in safeguarding regulations, risk assessments, de-escalation techniques, and the best practices associated with support work.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
