Do you have claims handling experience? Looking for more flexibility of better work life balance? If you can answer yes to both of these questions then I think we have the ideal role for you, working for a growing insurance broking group, as a claims handler
Whilst they have their main office in Surrey; they also have staff working remotely and this is likely to expand in 2025 as the business continues with its acquisition plans. As such this is a super time for people joining the business.Â
As a claims handler they will consider you working from either their offices in Banstead in Surrey, or from Home* – or a hybrid of the two.Â
*Would be required to attend the office for any training needed initially
This role would be perfect for someone who wants to perhaps work c25 hours per week (whether that be someone looking to simply cut down their hours for work/life balance; or a parent for example) – if you have the necessary claims experience – Then this company are not too fussed on where you are located. It could also develop into more hours if someone wanted them or be full time from the get-go, they really are that flexible here!
Your role would be to handle all aspects of Claims – including first notification; following up on claim progress; communications with client throughout the claim; updating the Acturis system on all aspects of the claim; Liaising with Account Handler/Exec as necessary. You will also get to handle both commercial and personal claims – their book is 85% commercial, and this would be for all types of risks including Motor, Property, Liability etc
They do not have any delegated authority for claims here so the majority of their claims are simply FNOL, then monitoring and chasing as necessary until claim is finally closed – of course there are some they tend to get more involved in – so experience in handling claims is important but technical aspects on cover less so as this could be referred to the Handler/Exec where necessary and would come as the role develops
Experience of Acturis is desirable as they want to fully utilise the claims modules in Acturis and so someone willing to take ownership and almost make a project of this, would be great,
Whilst all the above is their ideal – they would also consider an apprentice (either someone fresh to the insurance industry or perhaps someone early in their insurance career in the industry) – although for someone such as this this role would need to be office based if you have little to no insurance experience.
Salary will be very much shaped on the applicant, based on experience; hours; whether office based or not, etc., but we are looking initially around the £27-35,000 mark to start.
