Job Title: Repair Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Blackwood

Salary: £45,000 per annum

Hours: Full time. Monday - Friday, days regular with flexible hoursHere at The Recruitment Co, we are recruiting a Repair Engineer to work for a company based in Blackwood on a full time, permanent contract.Duties/ Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the engineering manager as a repair engineer,
  • you will be required to provide a high level of support to the workshop and design repair schemes under our EASA/ UK CAA 145 and UK CAA Part 21J approval.
  • Ideally you will be familiar with aircraft engine nacelles, composites materials, repair design practices and procedures and have a sound understanding of aerospace repair processes.
  • You will also be required to liaise with OEM's providing in-depth reports from time to time.

Required Experience

  • Aerospace background with a minimum of degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering is essential
  • Proven record of producing solutions to diverse engineering projects
  • Ideally have a minimum of 5 years experience within the aerospace industry and a repair design background
  • Develop structurally acceptable and cost-effective repair schemes for a wide variety of aerospace components, both metallic and composite. Substantiation of all schemes is necessary to satisfy EASA/ UKCAA requirements
  • Draw basic engineering drawings using CATIA
  • Carry out damage investigations and compile reports
  • Provide full technical support to production teams using sound material and process knowledge
  • Liaise with OEM, regulatory bodies and/or vendors on technical issues
  • Carry out stress analysis in support of Repair Approval process
  • Work well within a team and be able to use own initiative
  • Must be able to provide a high standard of both written and oral communication to all levels of the business whether formal or informal.
  • Demonstrate high degree of flexibility
  • Must be able to work on own initiative and with a minimum of supervision
  • Must be able to work to set targets and deadlines, and manage multiple priorities
  • Must be computer literate and able to use a wide variety of standard software
  • Possess current Drivers Licence and Passport
