SEMH Teaching Assistant - Term to Perm Opportunity in Dagenham

An independent school in Dagenham is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team for a term-to-perm role, starting in January. Position Details:

  • Role: SEMH Teaching Assistant (Primary or Secondary, based on individual strengths)
  • Hours: 08:30 - 16:00, Monday to Friday
  • Pay Rate: £100 per day, increasing to £120 per day after 12 weeks, with the opportunity to move onto a permanent contract
  • Start Date: January

About the Role: As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with pupils who have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs. Your role will involve providing tailored support, helping students manage their emotions, and engaging them in their learning. You may be assigned to work in primary or secondary classes depending on your individual strengths and experience.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with SEMH students or similar special educational needs
  • Confident in supporting students with challenging behaviour
  • Able to build strong, positive relationships with students and staff
  • Flexible and adaptable, with a passion for making a difference
  • Willing to commit to a term-to-perm role with the potential for a permanent contract
