Are you passionate about supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are looking for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Barking and Dagenham, East London.
SEMH Teaching Assistant | The Role:- Full-time: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (to accommodate early arrivals, late departures, and paperwork).
- Supporting SEMH pupils who are integrated into mainstream classes, providing extra adult support where needed.
- Encouraging independence by helping students remain in class and engaging in learning.
- Providing additional support, such as taking students for short walks when required.
- Working closely with teachers and SEN staff to ensure a nurturing and structured environment.
- Experience supporting children with SEMH needs or other additional needs.
- A calm, patient, and adaptable approach to learning support.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- A proactive and nurturing mindset to help students develop confidence and independence.
