This Community school located in the borough of Barking & Dagenham, are looking to recruit a number of SEND Teaching Assistants to join their team. The school has the highest expectations and ambitions for every student. Through a large investment, the school has recently completed their rebuild and the facilities are fantastic.

This larger than average school are very supportive of their staff and are always trying to better their expertise. Having been graded Good in their last Ofsted, it was stated that "Leaders make sure that staff benefit from quality training to help them to contribute towards the school's priorities. From their monitoring, leaders identify the personal training and development needs of members of staff, which they then fulfil."

The school has great public transport links nearby with a railway station and tube station both only a 10-minute walk from the school.

SEND Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a dynamic, experienced, and motivated individual who is looking to make a difference as a Teaching Assistant. The successful candidates will have a passion for education and ideally be looking to go on to complete their teaching qualifications. Experience of working alongside students with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) would be a benefit. As an SEND Teaching Assistant you will be joining a strong and supportive student support department. You will be required to work closely supporting students with varying SEND, so being adaptable is very important.

Your role will be to provide support to students with additional needs, 1:1 tuition or to small groups of students with varying abilities. You will be encouraging and supporting individual pupils to reach their full potential whilst demonstrating a creative and determined attitude that will help motivate students. You will be directly supporting the students, as well as helping to organise the teaching and learning resources available to students and staff.

The school are looking to recruit SEND Teaching Assistants who are able to commit to the autumn term in the first instance with the view that the role will continue for the academic year.

The right applicant for this SEND Teaching Assistant position will:

  • Have experience of working as a teaching assistant (desired)
  • Have an interest in the education sector
  • SEND experience (Desired)
  • A recent graduate (graduated within last 2 years)
  • Ability to engage with and inspire young learners.
