Empowering Learning is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support primary-aged children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a vibrant and inclusive school in Barking & Dagenham. This is a full-time, long-term position with the opportunity for professional development and growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for children with SEN, including Autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties.
  • Assist the class teacher in creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Implement tailored educational plans, ensuring all children can access the curriculum effectively.
  • Help manage behaviour and provide emotional support to children with additional needs.
  • Work collaboratively with the SENCo, teachers, and external specialists to meet the individual needs of pupils.
  • Support children with their social and emotional development, encouraging positive interactions.
  • Assist with classroom activities, resources, and maintaining classroom organisation.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children with SEN in a primary school setting.
  • Knowledge of strategies for supporting children with Autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties.
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to working with children with additional needs.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.
  • A relevant qualification in education or SEN support is desirable but not essential.
