About the Role

Our client, a growing accountancy practice based in East London, is seeking a motivated and client-oriented Accountant to join their team. This firm specializes in providing services to small businesses and sole traders across the UK, and they are looking for someone who can bring a blend of accounting expertise and sales acumen to the role.

Key ResponsibilitiesAs the first point of contact for new clients, you will play a critical role in driving the firm’s business development and maintaining strong client relationships.

  • Client Engagement & Sales: You will handle a high volume of daily inquiries from potential clients, providing basic tax compliance advice, sending quotes, and managing follow-ups. You’ll be responsible for the end-to-end management of the sales process, ensuring a seamless experience for new clients.

  • Account Management: Once a client is onboarded, you will continue to act as their main point of contact, providing ongoing support and customer service as needed.

  • Collaboration: Routine accounting tasks, such as bookkeeping, VAT filings, and other deliverables, will be handled by internal teams. This allows you to focus on client interactions and offering expert advice.

Candidate Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of tax compliance, particularly for small businesses and sole traders
  • Ability to provide basic tax planning advice to directors and sole traders
  • Excellent communication skills—confident, client-focused, and sales-driven
  • Comfortable managing a high volume of client inquiries and sales activities
  • Familiarity with small business tax compliance, with a focus on client service and relationship-building

Experience Requirements
