Behaviour Mentor Required for Primary School in Barking and Dagenham
- Full time 8:30am-3:30pm Monday to Friday
- £85-£95 per day
About the role:
This primary school are seeking educators to work with a child in Year 2 with Autism . The student is non-verbal and displays very challenging behaviour. They are looking for someone with knowledge of PECS and willingness to do personal care.
Your Role:
- Supporting an ASC child on a 121 basis
- Ability to use PECS to communicate with non-verbal children
- Willingness to do personal care (toileting/nappy changing)
- Working with other support staff to engage pupils in class and minimise disruption
- Providing feedback to teachers and parents
The ideal candidate:
- Outgoing and mentoring manner
- Previous experience working with non-verbal children using PECS
- Ability to work with children known for very challenging behaviour outbursts
- Enthusiastic and passionate about helping children reach their full potential
- You will be expected to think on your feet and be proactive, no day is the same in a school, so being prepared is vital.
- Ability to form excellent relationships and rapport with pupils
