Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Operations Team Leader to oversee all aspects of material management, operational efficiency, and team leadership. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic organization and play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence and maintaining the highest standards in quality, health, safety, and environmental compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the acceptance, quality control, processing, blending, packaging, and delivery of materials.
  • Manage stock control, including annual stock-take and maintaining accurate records.
  • Line manage and motivate operational personnel, ensuring performance monitoring, adherence to policies, and a positive working environment.
  • Manage daily operations, including timekeeping, cleanliness, overtime arrangements, and team supervision.
  • Promote lean management principles and foster employee engagement through surveys and internal platforms.
  • Ensure strict adherence to company policies, quality, health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments, investigate incidents, and maintain records in compliance with ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001).
  • Lead by example to promote continual improvement in QHSE systems.
  • Manage payroll systems and working times approvals.
  • Coordinate meetings and ensure efficient communication across teams.
  • Liaise with senior management on personnel performance and operational concerns.
  • Ensure proper maintenance, calibration, and training for all equipment.
  • Collaborate with the Facilities Manager for ordering supplies and consumables.

Requirements

  • Experience in the metals recycling or metals industry highly advantageous.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
  • Proven experience in a supervising/management within a fast-paced environment is essential.
  • Understanding of quality, health, safety, and environmental standards (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
