Senior Licensing Enforcement Officer
Location: East London
Rate: 28.94 per hour umbrella

A Local Authority in East London are recruiting for a Interim Senior Licensing Enforcement Officer.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead on all licensing enforcement matters, including reviewing license applications and pursuing representation where operating schedules are deficient.
  • Provide expert advice on licensing enforcement matters to colleagues, partner service agencies, senior officers, and elected members.
  • Conduct comprehensive inspections of licensed premises according to a risk-assessed program to ensure compliance with license terms, conditions, and restrictions.
  • Gather and investigate intelligence and follow up on complaints regarding breaches of license terms, conditions, and restrictions.
  • Take appropriate formal enforcement action, including issuing statutory notices and/or initiating legal proceedings where serious breaches or illegal activities are evident.
Experience Required:
  • Experience working in an enforcement or investigative environment, with a focus on licensing or related areas.
  • Proven experience in investigative processes, including interviewing under caution, preparing case reports, and attending court.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and present reports and give evidence in licensing hearings, tribunals, or court proceedings.
