  • Working hours are Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, and the ideal candidate must have a valid UK driving license and the right to work in the UK.

Our client, a family style construction based company are looking for a permanent Assistant Buyer to join their established team.

Reporting to the Procurement Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Building, maintaining and managing supplier relationships ensuring good lines of communications.
  • Undertaking supplier negotiations
  • Placing purchase orders with suppliers and managing them t ensure the goods/services are delivered in a timely manner.
  • Communicating any supplier issues to operations department
  • Responsible for the day to day management of the various procurement databases
  • Planning and preparing forward import ores based on forecast depot requirements.
  • Preparing cost analysis reports on procurement process activities to allow the Procurement Manager o make informed choices.
  • Assisting the accounts department in the posting of invoices and taking a lead role in the resolving of invoice and account discrepancies
  • Undertaking any other reasonable duties as requested.

Ideally the successful candidate will poses the following skills and attributes:

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a close knit team demonstrating the ability to build good working relationships
  • Good analytically skills with excellent planning skills
  • Strong IT skills with proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint an outlook
  • Valid UK Driving Licence
  • Must be able to demonstrate the right to work in the UK
