Teacher of English Required for Secondary School in East London

Are you an English Teacher with QTS who is seeking a full-time role to start as soon as possible? This role working in a large secondary school in Barking and Dagenham might be just right for you!

About the role

We are working with the school to recruit a English Teacher teaching both KS3 and KS4 English, with the possibility for KS5. The role is available to start as soon as possible.

The school is focused on providing the highest quality of education for a cohort of East London children, many of whom are from disadvantaged backgrounds. The school has a real focus on work life balance by ensuring emails are switched off on evenings and weekends as well as the school being closed by 5pm each day to ensure staff are not staying behind working late into the evening. The school looks for Teachers who have a genuine passion for teaching disadvantaged children within a mainstream setting.

The English department is thriving with above average local and national results year on year within their English department. You will be joining a succesful department that work collaboratively to provide outstanding teaching. The school is also a teacher training hub and specialises in professional development of staff which Ofsted regarded as Outstanding.

About you

  • QTS with an English specialism (Literature and Language)

  • Experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4 in a secondary school

  • Proven background of high pupil progress

  • A real desire to make a positive difference to the pupils you work with
