Specialist SEN TA

LTF recruitment are looking for an experienced, SEN teaching assistant specialist. The correct candidate will have plenty of evidence of experience working with SEN children on a 1:1, small group and Alternative Provision basis. The successful candidate will work closely with a child within the schools Special Educational Needs Provision, working with teachers and support staff to provide a nurturing, educational and enjoyable learning environment.

The school is a fantastic, supportive school in Dagenham. The school has a brilliant SENCO and a very supportive Senior Leadership Team. Within this role, the successful candidate will work full time Monday to Friday on a long-term basis. For the right candidate, the role will have the potential to become a permanent placement if the school sees fit.

The Role

  • Supporting the class teacher with all lessons throughout the school day.
  • Assisting children with SEN, helping them with their academic, social and emotional development.
  • Planning and assessing small group work and 1:1 interventions following the schools assessments systems and tracking progress.
  • Assisting all children within the classroom to support them and the class teacher as much as possible.

The Candidate

  • Level 3 or relevant qualification required.
  • Highly experienced SEN practitioner within an Alternative Provision.
  • Be well versed in behaviour management strategies.
  • Be nurturing and caring.
  • Must be flexible to work with other staff.
  • Will have excellent communication skills (non-verbal skills desired but not essential).
