SEN Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in Barking. This role involves supporting students with special educational needs in a nurturing primary school setting. You will work closely with teachers and SEN staff to provide tailored support that helps each child thrive academically and socially.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEN, adapting materials to meet individual needs.
  • Work alongside teachers to plan and deliver interventions that support learning and development.
  • Assist in creating a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
  • Use specific SEN strategies, such as visual aids and sensory breaks, to enhance engagement.
  • Monitor and report on student progress to teachers and the SENCO.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting students with SEN, ideally in a school setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and understanding approach.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
