Job Description:

We are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic SEN Teacher to join a School in Barking. This is a full-time role, perfect for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of students with SEN.
  • Develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) for students, setting clear goals and monitoring progress.
  • Utilise a variety of teaching strategies and resources to engage and support students in their learning.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, understanding, and independence.
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants, support staff, and other professionals to provide holistic support to students.
  • Regularly assess and report on students' progress, adapting teaching methods as necessary.
  • Engage with parents and guardians to communicate students' progress and address any concerns or needs.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in SEN education.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or PGCE : Must have; candidates without this qualification will not be considered.
  • Experience: Proven experience working with children with special educational needs.
  • Availability: Full-time availability is essential; part-time candidates will not be considered.
  • DBS: Must have an up-to-date DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.

Desirable Skills:

  • Strong understanding of various SEN conditions and effective teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for teaching and supporting students with SEN.
