Health and Safety Coordinator

We have an Excellent opportunity for a Health and Safety Coordinator/HSE coordinator to join a world leading Film and TV studio. Reporting to the HSE Manager, the HSE Coordinator will be responsible for helping to improve health & safety, and security within the studios operations in the UK and Europe.

Duties and Responsibilities for the HSE/Health and Safety Coordinator:

  • Provide health and safety support and guidance to Studio Operations throughout the UK and Europe.
  • Support the HSE Manager with contracted safety and security suppliers.
  • Monitor status, implementation, and maintenance of safety systems, across multiple sites.
  • Work closely with Studio Management to develop and implement safety programs.
  • Keep policies up to date, meeting regulatory compliance and guidance.
  • Assist with establishing new policies and procedures.
  • Work with incoming productions to advise on transfer of liability and information exchange, pertinent to each license agreement, variable across different sites.
  • Assist in developing emergency response procedures specific to each location.
  • Monitor facilities teams compliance procedures for the Regulatory Reform (fire safety) Order.
  • Ensure site-based risk assessments are completed.
  • Respond to issues relating to health, safety, environment, emergency response, performance metrics, and safety management systems for operations on all sites. Including developing triage and investigation processes.
  • Schedule and organise regular safety training and orientations.
  • Liaise with the HSE (Health & Safety Executive) and other European agencies and local Fire Authorities to ensure requirements are met and exceeded and relationships are upheld.

?Experience/Skills required for the HSE Coordinator:

  • Good Health and Safety related experience
  • Solid understanding of Health and safety requirements preferably for the entertainment, events, TV and/or film industries (or any related sector)
  • Health and safety qualifications would be desirable.
  • Demonstrable understanding of safety risk assessments and mitigations.
  • To be based in East London site but candidates should be Willing to travel to other sites occasionally when required.
  • Experience in providing training would be desirable.
  • Must have good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with common access control, CCTV, and alarm systems.
