Role and Responsibilities
As a Product Design Engineer, you will:
- Report to the Design and Technical Manager at the Northern Home Counties office.
- Lead concept development from initial brief to manufacture across multiple projects.
- Present product ideas clearly for brainstorming sessions and signoff.
- Create and amend parts and drawings to meet design specifications.
- Collaborate with local manufacturing partners to deliver products on time and within budget.
- Produce assembly drawings for in-house assembly teams.
- Ensure Product Technical Files are completed for certification submissions.
- Support product launches by producing specification sheets, installation guides, and online content.
- Process product environmental declarations when needed.
Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate will have:
- A degree in Product Design or an Engineering discipline.
- 5+ years of experience working as a designer in the lighting industry (essential).
- Expertise in manufacturing methods, including die-casting, injection molding, extrusions, and sheet metal fabrication.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, KeyShot, and Adobe Creative Suite.
