Position Overview:
Our clients are a dynamic construction company seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Contracts Manager. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in both the construction industry and the financial processes associated with managing projects. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth execution of projects by overseeing contracts, managing costs, ensuring compliance and meeting the extremely high standards expected .

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contract Management: Oversee the management of multiple construction contracts, ensuring that the highest standards are adhered to
  • Project Coordination: Work closely with site managers, and other stakeholders to ensure that contractual obligations are met, and the project is delivered on time and within budget.
  • Cost Management: Monitor the financial aspects of construction projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and managing costs to ensure profitability.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to contracts, including changes in scope, delays, or legal disputes. Ensure all contracts are structured to minimize risk.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all contracts, change orders, amendments, and related documentation.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, building codes, and industry standards throughout the lifecycle of a project.
  • Liaison with Stakeholders: Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and legal advisors to resolve any contract-related issues or disputes.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and present financial reports related to construction projects, including cost analysis, budget reviews, and progress updates for senior management.
  • Contract Close-out: Manage the contract close-out process, ensuring that all project deliverables are met and final payments are processed in a timely manner.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project management, with a strong understanding of contract administration and financial processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction contracts, cost management, and project financials.
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Trade background (Carpenter, Electrician, Plumber, Bricklayer)
  • Experience working with small to mid-sized construction companies.
  • Knowledge of building regulations.
