Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistants to support the Additional Resourced Provision (ARP) within a warm and inclusive primary school located in Barnet, North-West London. If you have experience supporting children with special educational needs and thrive in a nurturing, pupil-centred environment, this could be the ideal opportunity for you.

Start Date: April 2025Working Pattern: Full-time and flexible working options available - we welcome applications from individuals seeking long-term positions as well as part-time or short-term roles.Daily Rate: £90-£120, depending on experience.

The Role:
  • Provide bespoke one-to-one and small group support for pupils with neurodiverse profiles, including autism.

  • Collaborate closely with the SENDCo and specialist teachers to deliver on EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) targets.

  • Support pupils in developing their social interaction and communication skills.

  • Contribute to the creation of a stimulating, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

  • Utilise de-escalation strategies and positive behaviour support techniques to promote pupil progress.

What We're Looking For:
  • Previous experience supporting children with SEND, particularly those with autism and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive attitude towards supporting children's education and wellbeing.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals.

  • A genuine commitment to promoting inclusion and helping every child reach their full potential.
