School Caretaker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Caretaker willing to work 5 hours a day, 5 days a week (with the possibility to work more hours daily) to provide essential support and assistance in maintaining a safe and clean environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to the well-being of those in their care, ensuring that all tasks are completed with attention to detail and respect for individual needs. This role is vital in promoting a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere.

Duties

• Perform general cleaning tasks, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitising surfaces to uphold cleanliness standards.
• Assist with the organisation of living spaces, ensuring that areas are tidy and free from hazards.
• Support residents with daily activities as needed, fostering independence while providing necessary assistance.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and report any shortages or needs to management.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during all cleaning procedures.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to address any concerns or needs promptly.

Requirements

• Previous experience in commercial cleaning is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact positively with residents and staff.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
• Flexibility in working hours may be required to meet the needs of residents.
