We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Speciality Doctor in Psychiatry to join our dynamic multi-disciplinary team (MDT). You'll play a crucial role in providing patient-centered care, supporting service development, and working collaboratively with healthcare professionals to facilitate effective treatment and smooth transitions for our patients.Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments and facilitate admissions for new patients, ensuring each patient's unique needs are identified and addressed from the start.
  • Obtain comprehensive histories from professionals and families, collaborating with the MDT to formulate accurate diagnoses and individualized care plans.
  • Support regular physical health checks and work closely with GPs providing weekly clinics to promote holistic health management.
  • Complete discharge letters, reports, and prepare reports for First-tier Tribunal and Hospital Managers' hearings, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Facilitate the effective functioning of the Care Programme Approach and assist in developing and implementing treatment plans.
  • Work with the on-site Pharmacist to ensure safe, evidence-based prescribing practices.
  • Coordinate with external professionals and commissioners to support seamless community transitions and continuity of care.
  • Actively participate in Clinical Governance activities, audits, research, and teaching to support ongoing service improvements.
  • Under the guidance of the Consultant, lead and inspire the clinical team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Essential:
    • Full GMC registration
    • Minimum of 3 years' experience in psychiatry, with a proven record of working within MDTs
    • Good standing with the Royal College of Psychiatrists
    • Recent Appraisal/RITA within the past year
  • Desirable:
    • Section 12(2) approval
    • Previous experience in a similar environment or with comparable patient populations
