SEND Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Timeplan Education is recruiting a HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) to join a lovely 4 form-entry MLD primary school in Southgate, Barnet from December 2024!

The role will be on a full-time basis until the end the academic year and you will be leading pre-planned lessons from Monday-Thursday in the afternoons and in the afternoons and on Fridays, you will be leadind 1:1 and small group interventions with the higher ability children.

Job Responsibilities

  • Comfortable leading pre-planned interactive lessons and inrerventions
  • Responsible for teaching children with PMLD, ASD, ADHD and SEMH
  • Ability to engage and support pupils' learning
  • Develop therapeutic relationships with pupils
  • To promote and support the inclusion of all pupils in learning activities and maximise their achievement
  • Strong behaviour managment

Job Requirements

  • Level 5 qualification and above
  • Experience working in SEN schools
  • Experience working with children with SEN and ASD
  • Able to de-escalate and support emotional regulation
  • Valid DBS registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one
  • Available 5 days a week and able to commit to at least 12-39 weeks
