We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join the pastoral team at a vibrant all-girls secondary school in Barnet on a 6-month maternity cover (with potential for extension), starting in May 2025.

This is a full-time position, ideal for someone passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students across KS3 and KS4 with behavioural, emotional, and social challenges.

  • Deliver 1:1 mentoring sessions and small group interventions.

  • Work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to implement effective behaviour strategies.

  • Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a safe, respectful school environment.

  • Help manage incidents calmly and constructively, with a focus on de-escalation and restoration.

What We're Looking For:
  • Experience working with secondary-aged students, especially those with behavioural or SEMH needs.

  • A calm, consistent, and empathetic approach.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

  • Ability to remain patient and solution-focused under pressure.

  • Relevant training or qualifications in youth work, behaviour management, or similar (desirable but not essential).
